The Sea Softswitch conferencing application supports two kinds of multi-party conferences – Ad-hoc (N-way) and Meet-me. To establish a conference, the initiator can add additional parties to the call, thus effectively creating an 'ad-hoc' conference. Meet-me conferences calls, on the other hand, can be established at any appointed hour by users dialing a special conference number. The conference owner can also require an access code, thus turning this into a secured conference.
Each Sea Softswitch server supports multi-party conferences with up to 48 participants. Dynamically, the Sea Softswitch can simultaneously support a large 48-party conference or 16 three-party conferences or any combination in between.
